How to join the Manual Osteopathy Association of Manitoba

In order to become a MOAM-member, you must be a graduate of a registered Manual Osteopathic College that follows benchmarks for training in Osteopathy, as published by the World Health Organization in 2010.

Online courses without clinical component are not eligible for membership.

Please contact us to verify the eligiblity of your college / education.

You must also carry proof of professional liability insurance for Osteopathy.

Student memberships are available.

PRACTICING MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  1. Copy of your diploma(s) and transcripts at a Registered Manual Osteopathic College fullfilling the baseline requirements as outlined by the WHO benchmark document. 

  2. Proof of hands-on clinical residency (intra- and/or extracurricular).

  3. Proof of Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification. Online courses are not acceptable.

  4. Copy of Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check completed no more than 6 months prior to the application date (https://policeinformationcheck.winnipeg.ca/)

  5. Copy of government issued photo identification (drivers license, passport etc.).

  6. Proof of liability insurance with LMI Canada (or comparable companies) for Osteopathy with a minimum of $5,000,000 professional liability. The MOAM is a registered association with LMI Canada.

  7. Application fee of 200$ by e-transfer (non-refundable application processing fee of $100, plus first year of membership $100) to info@manitobaosteopathy.com

Allow 14 days processing time. Once your membership has been approved, you will receive an email with your membership details and your MOAM member number, which you should use on your receipts as proof of membership. An official certificate of membership will be mailed to you.
